Purpose
Every ten (10) years, Article 1, Section 2 of the United States Constitution mandates a count of all the people living in the United States and its territories. The 2020 Census will address every household in the nation with a simple questionnaire with the goal of counting everyone once, only once, and in the right place. Data obtained by the survey will provide statistical support for grant applications and help the community plan for future needs. The United States Census Bureau has encouraged all localities to appoint a local Complete Count Committee to bolster participation in the 2020 Census.
Authority
The Complete County Committee was established as an Ad Hoc committee on August 8, 2019, by Resolution of the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors.
Term
The term for the last Complete County Committee ended in October 2020. The U.S. Census Bureau is now tabulating and verifying the final results of the 2020 Census.
